Colossians 3:23 – “Whatever you do, do it with all your heart as if you’re working for the Lord.”
Jeremiah 29:11 – “For, I know the plans I have for you and they’re plans for good not disaster, plans to give you a future and a hope”
Hey everybody. I’m Dabo Swinney. I’m the coach at Clemson. I want to just take a second, first of all, to thank you for watching this and also to encourage you as you continue on your journey here of hopefully fulfilling what is, what it should be, all of our mission, and that is to know Him and to make Him known. So I’m so thankful for your service and your willingness to do this. And I just want to encourage you today with a couple of scriptures that I love one is as you, you know, we all have different paths in life and, and we’re called to do different things. Whether you’re a teacher, a football coach, a doctor, or insurance person, a fireman you know, a landscape person, whatever.
Colossians 3:23 says, “Whatever you do, do it with all your heart as if you’re working for the Lord”. Do it with all your heart as if you’re working for the Lord. And, if that’s the mentality that we should approach our daily lives with. And I think when we do that, other people will see that in us. So I just want to encourage you, whatever it is you’re doing, do it with all your heart as if you’re working for the Lord.
Alright, and then the second thing I want to encourage you with is Jeremiah 29:11. And it’s one of my favorite verses I’ve kind of lived my life by a saying of: “God never says “Oops”, God never says “My bad”. We do that often we mess up, we make mistakes and we go “Oh my bad”. But God never says, “Oops”. He never says “My Bad”. He is a faithful and perfect God. And Jeremiah 29:11 says: “For, I know the plans I have for you and they’re plans for good not disaster, plans to give you a future and a hope”.
And I have hung on to that for, you know, 35 years or so. I’ve kind of hung my hat on that because things happen this side of eternity, often, that we will never understand. But I’ve always taken comfort in knowing that God has the plans for us and they’re plans for good not disaster and what that means to me is if there’s hope in the future, then there’s power in the present to deal with whatever we got to deal with. And so I just want to encourage you with that to know that God’s got plans for you and whatever it is you’re doing know that that God is with you and do it with all your heart. And just be encouraged, as you move forward and you know, fulfill the Great Commission. And again, that is to know Him and make Him known. So, thank you for all you do. And, and I’ll pray for us now.
Dear Father, God, thank you for everyone that can hear and see this today. I just encourage them. I lift them up to you, Father God, I just pray that they will go and that they will help to make, you known. If, Father God, whatever it is they’re doing, that they will do it with all their heart as if they’re working for you. And Father God, I pray that you would encourage them and equip them to know that you have great plans for their lives and Lord to understand that you love them and to walk each and every day in faith and we ask these things in Christ’s name. Amen.
