Daniel 4:37 – “Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and exalt and glorify the king of heaven because everything he does is right. And all his ways are just, and those who walk in pride, he is able to humble.”
Hi everyone, I’m Lydia Johnson and I’m a student at Kansas State University and I’m also an intern at Honest Media. So today I’m going to be reading out of Daniel 4:37 and it says, “Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and exalt and glorify the king of heaven because everything he does is right. And all his ways are just, and those who walk in pride, he is able to humble.” So I love this verse because we see a ruler. We have Nebuchadnezzar, he’s powerful, he’s intimidating. And he’s really prideful. And he’s really fond of exalting himself. But in this verse he’s exalting the name of God. So although he himself never came to a saving faith, this verse proves that God is powerful enough to humble even the most prideful. So Nebuchadnezzar saw the faith of Daniel and his fear of God, and that led him to see the goodness of God and then exalt him in this verse.
So today, maybe that is that person in your life that’s really intimidating, or that has a lot of power in politics, or, you know, someone that’s close to you that doesn’t know the Lord and is stuck in sin. You know, God has a power to humble and change hearts. He is more powerful than all of those things. So everything God does is right and just, and he’s able to humble those who walk in pride. So there’s hope for everyone. And let’s be confident today that God is who he says he is, and that he has the power to save. So let’s pray.
Oh Lord, Jesus, I thank you so much for today. And just another day to be able to share your gospel Lord, I pray over every single person that may be intimidated right now, or maybe just overwhelmed with the pride of a friend or something or maybe our own pride.
God, I pray that would humble us. We know you have the power to save and we know you have the power to humble, even the most prideful. So I pray over every person that’s listening to this video right now. And I pray for the people who they will be sharing with God that you would humble their hearts, soften their hearts, to hear the gospel and then receive salvation from you Lord and commit to following you to Lord. We are so grateful and we exalt you King of Kings in heaven, Lord today. So I pray all these things in your name. Amen.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to equip you to share today.
