Matthew 12:47-50 – Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.”

He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?”  Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

Hey everyone. Solomon Lujan with Seed Company, a Bible translation ministry. I’m the founder of the “Pray for Zero”  movement. I’m really honored to be here with y’all and share today’s word for Go 2021. We’re uniting together to help those who don’t yet know Christ to fall in love with our beautiful Savior and Lord. Amen.

Today’s verse I want to share with you is from Matthew 12 verses 47 – 50. I’m going to summarize for y’all what he says. And basically he’s just saying, “Hey Jesus, there’s people outside and they’re your mother, your brother, your biological family.” And then he says, “who is my family?” It’s those who do the will of God. And right now they are the lost. There are those who are waiting to do the will of God. They haven’t been brought into the family. And they’re your future. They’re our future brothers and sisters in Christ. It’s our forever family out there.

And he’s saying we should love them more than our biological family. I’m called to love them more than my, I love my wife and my kids. It’s a hard message to hear, but thank God the Holy Spirit gives us love for those who are in need of him. And it can be awkward sharing your faith sometimes it can be intimidating; after a couple of decades of sharing my faith, I get that there’s moments. I’m not in the mood sometimes, just being real here, but love overcomes all those obstacles. Amen? And so today I challenge us all to  grow in love in the Father’s heart. As we come together right now and pray, may he lead us.

So Heavenly Father, Jesus, we need you God. We ourselves, our hearts can be hardened towards the lost to those without Christ, we ask that you grow right now, supernatural love in us so that we would love those that are yet to believe and tomorrow they can be our brothers and sisters in Christ just tomorrow even, God. And that if we would just be bold and rise up and most of all, put love first, grow love in our hearts. We ask  in the mighty name of Jesus,We pray.
